Real Estate Portal To Homes For Sale
About the Federal Commercial Real Estate Sales Program

FAS-RP provides information regarding commercial real estate, farm and land properties that are owned by the Government and offered for sale to the public. The properties are located throughout the United States, including our Commonwealths and Territories in the Pacific and Caribbean. FAS-RP is an example of inter-Departmental cooperation to consolidate public access to those properties through the FirstGov.gov portal.

Executive Order 13327 directed consolidation of all Government property sales under the guidance of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and designated GSA as the lead agency for the consolidation effort. GSA works closely with other federal agencies to provide central points of public access for real and personal property purchases. This effort is ongoing, with the goal of complete consolidation in the near future. Currently, HUD, USDA and VA are participating with GSA to provide you with a comprehensive view of their commercial real estate, farm and land properties for sale at FAS-RP.

HUD is the largest provider of government backed guarantees to commercial lenders. As a result, the mortgage industry benefits from increased stability and reduction of risk. This, in turn, allows for construction of commercial real estate in the form of multiple family housing units. HUD has an extensive portfolio of such properties available for purchase. For more information on its mission and services, visit HUD..

USDA, particularly through its Rural Development (RD) agency, also provides federal Government loans for multiple family housing and farms throughout rural America. USDA/RD is responsible for sale a large portfolio of such commercial real estate, farms and land. Visit USDA/RD for further information on its mission and services..

The Department of Veterans' Affairs (VA) has supported home ownership by members of the U.S. Armed Forces since 1944. VA is also responsible for sale of commercial real estate properties. Visit the VA to find out more about its mission and services.

The General Services Administration (GSA) is well known for its role as the "government's landlord," overseeing the operation of public buildings throughout the United States, its territories and possessions. GSA is also responsible for the sale of selected federal properties to the general public, including a significant number of commercial real estate and land holdings. Visit GSA for more information on its mission and services.
